It's been a year since Your Story Disability Legal Support started!
From our early start with a handful of staff in NSW and Queensland (and under a different name) we’ve certainly come a long way!
Now, we have trauma-informed and culturally-safe staff located in each state and territory. They give legal advice and get the word out about how we can support people to safely share their story with the Disability Royal Commission.
We’ve provided our services to people from every State and Territory in Australia!
We also have a wide range of accessible resources to empower people with the information they need to safely share their story.
On 16 September 2020, we celebrated this significant of this milestone, and reflected on what we've learnt and achieved along the way (over cake, of course!).
We've still got plenty of work ahead of us, and we are always looking for ways to improve. Thank you to the disability community and all the organisations and individuals who have helped us to provide a better service to people with disability. We look forward to supporting more people over the next 18 months to share their experiences with the Royal Commission.
