Disability Royal Commission information sessions in central west Queensland

Are you a person with disability or a supporter living in central west Queensland? Have you experienced or witnessed violence, abuse, neglect or exploitation?

You can find out about the Disability Royal Commission and the free supports available at a series of information sessions happening in the central west Queensland region from 19 to 20 July.

Hosted by Your Story Disability Legal Support and Lotus Support Services, the sessions are free to attend and are being held in the following locations:

  • Blackwater - Blackwater Civic Centre Supper Room, 20 Blain Street, on Tuesday 19 July from 9—11am
  • Emerald - Maraboon Tavern, corner of Hospital Road and Esmond Street, on Tuesday 19 July from 12.30—2.30pm
  • Barcaldine - The Globe, Galilee Gallery, Level 1, 149 Oak Street, on Wednesday 20 July from 9—11am
  • Longreach - Joseph Edgely Memorial Hall, disability access via Magpie Lane or 105 Galah Street for parking, on Wednesday 20 July from 12.30—2.30pm

Everyone is welcome at the sessions, where representatives from each service will share information and answer questions about the Royal Commission and the free supports available to people with disability and their family members, friends, carers, advocates and supporters.

Your Story Disability Legal Support is a national service that gives free, independent legal advice and support to people considering taking part in the Disability Royal Commission.

Lotus Support Services is a Queensland-wide service that provides free, confidential counselling and support to people engaging with or affected by the Disability Royal Commission.

Light refreshments will be provided, and disability access will be available.
