You can do that: Providing services to people with disability

On Thursday 2 December, Your Story Disability Legal Support and Legal Aid Western Australia (LAWA) will host an event for International Day of People with Disability (IDPWD) in Perth.

IDPWD is a United Nations observed day aimed at increasing public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability.

“You can do that” will feature an afternoon tea and welcome followed by a panel discussion with four people with expertise in providing disability services.

This will be chaired by Tarna Bulman, parent of a child with a disability and solicitor, Civil Division, LAWA.

The panellists are:

  • Jacquie Mills, Managing Director of Microboards Australia, educator and complex communication specialist and parent of an adult with a disability
  • Sharon Kellow, Social Worker with LAWA’s Seniors Rights and Advocacy Service, person with a disability and parent of an adult with a disability
  • Margaret Irvine, NDIS Appeals Team Solicitor, LAWA Civil Division
  • Nita King, Your Story Advisory Group Member
