Disability Royal Commission extends the deadline for two Issues Papers and releases Report into Public hearing 5

The Disability Royal Commission has extended the deadline for the public to respond to two if its Issues Papers:

  1. Creating a more inclusive society for People with Disability. The paper includes 9 questions to guide people and organisations in their response. The paper is available in Easy Read, PDF and DOCX. It will now close on 2 April 2021.
  2. Violence and abuse of people with disability at home. The paper includes 13 questions to guide people and organisations in their response. The paper is available in Easy Read, PDF and DOCX and now closes on 26 February 2021.

After these dates, any comments about these issues can be made using the submissions process.

On 30 November the Disability Royal Commission published its report on Public hearing 5 - Experiences of People with disability during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It includes 22 recommendations highlighting the need for greater consultation, planning and funding from the Australian Government to better respond to pandemics for people with disability.
